I've learned in my lifetime so far... that you can't help who you fall for. No matter how hard you try and how much it hurts you everyday. You'd just wanna be with em, just talk to em. You'd never stop trying - to make them happy with the little things you say or do. Hmmm~ wanna know why? Because that's what actually makes your life worth going on for.

I guess all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is just up to you. People are lonely because they build walls instead of bridges. But still, if we are incapable of finding peace in ourselves, it is pointless to search elsewhere.

I'm happy : )

Well, ask anyone, and they'll tell you about sleepless nights. They probably happen often enough that this anyone in question will even tell you about their own little ritual for getting to sleep, counting baa baa? ( the black sheep, tons of em? )...

I used to be the same way. Used to, because it stopped. I can't remember the exact day. But that's not this story. Nothing could be as boring as a story about a good nights sleep, yes?. This story is far more complex, perplexed thoughts and feelings - for tonight I CAN NOT sleep.

Hmmm~... when you're younger, restlessness most often involves anticipation. Your little mind races with possibility. The future is too much to let go. Christmas Eve is the reigning king of this sleepless kingdom, hehe...

Then as you get older, the very nature of which includes - gaining a past. On comes sleeplessness due to regret, anxiety, and frustration. Anxiousness might look like it's all about where you're going, but it couldn't be more about where you've been. There's no clear-cut-cause winner in this sleepless category yer know but it's pretty safe to look in the direction of work or relationships.

Me... I'm awake because of that second category. The details aren't so important. It still can be, tho. Let's just say I'm not tossing and turning because I'm frustrated with the way things are going. Guess, I'll just leave it at that. Before the race starts again...~

A Taste OV Insanity ( Metal Soundz ) - 9 July 2006. Bands:

Managed to snap some shots during the gig. Shots below were taken with my camera (k750i) phone.

To be honest, I'm not much of a metal fan. It's a risky proposition yer know - to stand at the barrier and be deafened by the huge speaker stacks or crushed to death by head banging youngsters who think moshing is a death sport. Or stand further back and see nothing and still be deafened by what is often very bad sound. I’d always rather be seeing indie bands, tamer crowd...:P But, I still had a blast snapping away - ferocious bands, ferocious sound and distorted prhotographs, just the way I like em.

Bangkok Rock Festival 2006 was different, bigger venue, bigger crowd & the biggest bands!. Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo, Snow Patrol, Futureheads, Ian Brown - great music / 2 day Rock Fes, it's an experience to die for. Sadly, we were not allowed to bring cameras in, bummer. Here is a shot I took with my camera phone - Placebo entertaining the crowd. Enjoy! :D

Elliot Smith (1969 - 2003)

I got introduced to Elliot Smith's music in 96/97. I was in Singapore back then, with a dreadful career. Feeling disgruntled daily, stuck working these dreadful hours in shifts, getting paid shite and worse of em all - LIFELESS.

Anyway, back to the late Indie Rocker - Elliot Smith. As I was saying I got introduced to his music back in 96/97 by a friend. Heard his self titled album "Smith" under the Kill Rock Stars label. Lyrically, his songs addressed dark subject matters such as drug addiction, depression, troubled relationships,morbidity and loneliness. Partly, there was a connection between his words/songs and my feelings back then, ANGST!....biasa lar rite, was in my early 20's then :P On his music - acoustically astonishing - blew my mind, soundgasms!

Next I heard of him is when he composed some songs for the "Good Will Hunting" film directed by Gus Van Sant. Brilliant film! Among them is "Miss Misery" which received an Academy nomination - Best Original Song. He did not win tho~...

Figure 8 is the only album I have. His albums are obscure, especially in Penang. I was lucky to have bought Figure 8 recently. Listening to his songs again, the reconciled the memories of Singapore... it just feels good now, if yer know what I mean.
